Dignity in old age: caring for Sathi
Sathi can't afford the care She needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $550.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 74. After worsening Parkinson's disease Sathi can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Sathi desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Sathi worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $550 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $370
• Medication and prescriptions: $95
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $25
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sathi
Part-time carer (four months) is $370 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for asking.
You're not alone, Anika. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Faisalabad!
wishing you the best, Anika. Get well soon. God bless.
