Dignity in old age: caring for Romain
Romain can't afford the care He needs after a diagnosis of dementia; we're asking for $5,100.

I'm caring for my father, who's 89. After a diagnosis of dementia Romain can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Romain desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Romain worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $5,100 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $4,100
• Medication and prescriptions: $630
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $150
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $220
I hope life is good to you.
- Étienne

Hope things get better soon, Étienne. Hope this works out for you. After 26 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings
