Dignity in old age: caring for Rohan
Rohan, 80, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $800 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for me, who's 80. After worsening Parkinson's disease Rohan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Rohan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Rohan worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $800 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $710
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55
I hope life is good to you.

Sending good thoughts, Rohan. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
