Dignity in old age: caring for Rajeshwari
Help Rajeshwari stay in her own home with four months of part-time care.
Anywhere in the world412 views
I'm caring for me, who's 90. After a diagnosis of dementia Rajeshwari can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Rajeshwari desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Rajeshwari worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $700 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $450
• Medication and prescriptions: $125
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rajeshwari.
It's all in the list in the story. part-time carer (four months) is the big one at $450, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
You're not alone, Rajeshwari. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 15 people at work.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best
Sending strength, Rajeshwari. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Mapo.
Sending love, Rajeshwari. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Wish I lived closer to Rio de Janeiro so I could bring a meal.
Stay strong, Rajeshwari. Hope the doctors have good news
