Dignity in old age: caring for Panagiotis
Help Panagiotis stay in his own home with four months of part-time care.
🇬🇷 Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece853 views
I'm caring for me, who's 92. After worsening Parkinson's disease Panagiotis can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Panagiotis desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Panagiotis worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $600 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $155
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $270
• Medication and prescriptions: $175
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Panagiotis

Thanks for sharing this, Panagiotis. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. Love from Iztapalapa.
Shared this with my family. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out
Wishing you the best, Panagiotis. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
