Dignity in old age: caring for Mykola

I'm caring for my father, who's 85. After a diagnosis of dementia Mykola can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mykola desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Mykola worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $850 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $125
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $110
• Part-time carer (three months): $615
