I'm caring for my mother, who's 85. After a stroke last December Mi-sook can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mi-sook desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Mi-sook worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $2,900 goes: • Part-time carer (six months): $1,900 • Medication and prescriptions: $380 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $300 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $320 Ask me anything below before you decide.
