I'm caring for my father, who's 86. After a diagnosis of dementia Meet can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Meet desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Meet worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $500 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $360
• Medication and prescriptions: $65
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75

Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (four months), $360. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.
