I'm caring for my father, who's 91. After a fall and hip fracture Kai can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kai desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Kai worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $4,700 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $3,200 • Medication and prescriptions: $430 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $410 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $660 Thanks for being kind about this. - Lawrence
