Dignity in old age: caring for Joon-woo
Joon-woo, 90, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $950 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 90. After a diagnosis of dementia Joon-woo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Joon-woo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Joon-woo worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $950 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $230
• Medication and prescriptions: $460
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $260
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
