Dignity in old age: caring for Isha
Help Isha stay in her own home with four months of part-time care.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India978 views
I'm caring for my mother, who's 80. After a heart attack Isha can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Isha desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Isha worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $700 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $85
• Part-time carer (four months): $520
• Medication and prescriptions: $95
Every share and every dollar helps.
