Dignity in old age: caring for Heinz
Heinz can't afford the care He needs after a fall and hip fracture; we're asking for $5,200.

I'm caring for my father, who's 84. After a fall and hip fracture Heinz can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Heinz desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Heinz worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $5,200 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $4,250
• Medication and prescriptions: $350
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $260
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $340
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
