Dignity in old age: caring for Gustavo
Gustavo can't afford the care He needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $1,250.

I'm caring for my father, who's 83. After worsening Parkinson's disease Gustavo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Gustavo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Gustavo worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $150
• Part-time carer (four months): $1,000
• Medication and prescriptions: $100
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
