I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After a stroke last April Fajar can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Fajar desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Fajar worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $650 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $35
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $75
• Part-time carer (eight months): $540

Thank you all. We're at 32% now ($205). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
Quick update: $48 raised so far (7%). I made the first payment toward part-time carer. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
