Dignity in old age: caring for Fadi
Help Fadi stay in his own home with three months of part-time care.
🇪🇬 Cairo, Egypt283 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 96. After the death of his spouse Fadi can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Fadi desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Fadi worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $650 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $500
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $85
• Medication and prescriptions: $65
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
