Dignity in old age: caring for Esther
Help Esther stay in her own home with eight months of part-time care.
🇳🇬 Nigeria799 views
I'm caring for my mother, who's 95. After the death of her spouse Esther can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Esther desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Esther worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $550 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $410
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $95
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Enugu.
Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in St. Petersburg but we're thinking of you
I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Multan but we're thinking of you. All the best.
