Dignity in old age: caring for Danjuma
Danjuma, 82, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $250 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 82. After a stroke last March Danjuma can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Danjuma desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Danjuma worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $250 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75
• Medication and prescriptions: $135
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $40
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. Put this on a community board in Dwarka this morning.
Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Greetings from San Jose.
