Dignity in old age: caring for Chinedu
Chinedu can't afford the care He needs after the death of his spouse; we're asking for $200.
🇳🇬 Edo, Nigeria1,419 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After the death of his spouse Chinedu can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Chinedu desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Chinedu worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $200 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $80
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $45
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $75
Glad we found this place.

Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
