Companionship wanted: Maria's old films and a cup of tea

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Maria is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Maria, who's 91. Maria lives alone in Manila, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives several hours away. Maria loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thanks for being kind about this.

Sending love. Get well soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
