Clean water and shade for Angeles: restoring the Pioneer canal
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Pioneer canal needs $450 for saplings and equipment.
🇵🇭 Philippines1,132 views
The Pioneer canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 92 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 188 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $450 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $35
• Native saplings and stakes: $300
• Tools and protective gear: $115
I hope life is good to you.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rowena
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. signage and educational materials comes first ($35) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
Take care, Rowena. Shared it with a few friends. Don't give up.
