Üsküdar
Sycamore Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 56 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 176 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $450 goes: • Waste removal and skip hire: $135 • Native saplings and stakes: $240 • Signage and educational materials: $75 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Songül

  1. Quick update: $210 raised so far (47%). the first invoice got paid this week. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($75). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.
