Clean streets and rivers for Hanoi: restoring Harmony Creek
Help us clean and replant Harmony Creek before the April planting window closes.
🇻🇳 Hanoi, Hanoi, Vietnam538 views
Harmony Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This January, 104 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 88 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $150 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $10
• Tools and protective gear: $60
• Native saplings and stakes: $80
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Nghĩa?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about signage and educational materials, advice is welcome too. Good question.
Sending good thoughts. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
Stay strong, Nghĩa. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Bang Khen donated after I showed her your page. All the best
Sending love. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Los Angeles this morning. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Nghĩa. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out.
