Clean streams for New Delhi: restoring Union Beach
Volunteers are restoring Union Beach in New Delhi; $250 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇮🇳 India1,069 views
Union Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This April, 60 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 85 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $90
• Tools and protective gear: $35
• Waste removal and skip hire: $95
• Signage and educational materials: $30
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Omkar.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. native saplings and stakes comes first ($90) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
Best of luck, Omkar. Shared it with a few friends. Take care.
