The Union wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 81 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 59 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $350 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $240 • Tools and protective gear: $35 • Waste removal and skip hire: $55 • Signage and educational materials: $20 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Yamini

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($87 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 13% now ($47). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
