Clean streams for Irapuato: restoring Unity Beach
Volunteers are restoring Unity Beach in Irapuato; $500 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

Unity Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 40 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 108 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $250
• Waste removal and skip hire: $220
• Signage and educational materials: $30
I hope life is good to you.
Updates from Daniel
Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($31). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts.

you're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Coyoacán so I could bring a meal. God bless.
Wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best!
Praying for you. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Sending good thoughts, Daniel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Cairo.
Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
