Clean streams for Dublin: restoring the Sycamore hillside
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Sycamore hillside needs $1,350 for saplings and equipment.
🇮🇪 Ireland611 views
The Sycamore hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 85 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 119 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $450
• Native saplings and stakes: $670
• Signage and educational materials: $230
Thank you so much.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Donal.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. tools and protective gear comes first ($450) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
Thinking of you. Great idea, hope you get there. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
