Clean air and water for Gujranwala: restoring Unity Creek
A neighborhood-led restoration of Unity Creek needs $250 for saplings and equipment.
🇵🇰 Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan1,047 views
Unity Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 77 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 186 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $80
• Tools and protective gear: $65
• Waste removal and skip hire: $55
• Signage and educational materials: $50
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thinking of you and your family. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
