Clean air and water for Edmonton: restoring Unity Creek
A neighborhood-led restoration of Unity Creek needs $2,550 for saplings and equipment.
🇨🇦 Canada1,850 views
Unity Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 110 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 169 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $590
• Tools and protective gear: $220
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,740
Thanks for reading all this.

hang in there. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Edmonton.
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about waste removal and skip hire, advice is welcome too. I'll keep the page updated.
Thinking of you and your family, Donna. Hope this works out for you. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Auckland.
