Clean air and water for Bhaktapur: restoring the Harmony hillside
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Harmony hillside needs $100 for saplings and equipment.
🇳🇵 Nepal1,585 views
The Harmony hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 98 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 174 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $100 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $25
• Signage and educational materials: $25
• Waste removal and skip hire: $50
I hope life is good to you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Roshan.
It's all in the list in the story. tools and protective gear is the big one at $25, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
good luck. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Granada
This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Bangkok this morning. Take care.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Jinja.
Great idea, hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.
