Chitra's final semester of a law degree in Nagpur
Chitra is two terms away from finishing a law degree but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $600.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a law degree at Nagpur University, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $600.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $600 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $300
• Final term tuition: $240
• Exam and lab fees: $10
• Textbooks and materials: $50
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chitra
good luck with the exams, you've got this. Wish I lived closer to Edinburgh so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
Keep going, Chitra. Study hard! Take care
Hope things get better soon, Chitra. This could happen to any of us.
Sending strength, Chitra. Looking forward to the next update. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out.
as a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My husband and I read this together.
