Carolina was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May. The oncology team at the Petrópolis Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Carolina is 52, worked as a bus conductor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Petrópolis Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,850 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $520 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $115 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,800 • Scans and lab work: $415 Every share and every dollar helps. - Gustavo
