I'm caring for my father, who's 75. After a heart attack Werner can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Werner desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Werner worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $300
• Medication and prescriptions: $460
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,940

Small update. $316 so far, I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts.
Quick update: $138 raised so far (4%). the plan for mobility aids and bathroom adaptations is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
