Care for Suren, 85: help cover a carer and medication in Johannesburg
Suren, 85, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,150 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 85. After the death of his spouse Suren can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Suren desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Suren worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $930
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $80
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $140
