I'm caring for my father, who's 94. After a diagnosis of dementia Maverick can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Maverick desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Maverick worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.

• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $165
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $370
• Medication and prescriptions: $615

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Sheffield.
