I'm caring for my father, who's 85. After a diagnosis of dementia Maina can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Maina desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Maina worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $800 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $650
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45
• Medication and prescriptions: $105

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. part-time carer (four months) comes first ($650) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Happy to explain more.
