Campinas
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $410, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 155 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $145 • Tools hire and delivery: $150 • Permits and inspections: $55 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
