I'm caring for my father, who's 74. After a diagnosis of dementia Khoa can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Khoa desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Khoa worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $850
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $95

Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (eight months), $850. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
