Care for Brian, 90: help cover a carer and medication in Ottawa
Brian can't afford the care He needs after the death of his spouse; we're asking for $4,250.
🇨🇦 Ottawa, Ontario, Canada3,604 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 90. After the death of his spouse Brian can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Brian desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Brian worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $4,250 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $2,900
• Medication and prescriptions: $660
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $460
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $230
Thank you so much.
