Zoey received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent

The closure of the factory left Zoey short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.

After a sudden layoff at the restaurant, Zoey fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a final eviction notice was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,650. The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, the family must leave. There are 1 children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. Zoey has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $2,650 goes: • Rent arrears (4 months): $1,550 • Utilities in arrears: $150 • First month of rent as a buffer: $950 If you're reading this, thank you.
