Build a wheelchair ramp for Meng in Christchurch
Help Meng regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇳🇿 Canterbury, New Zealand126 views
Meng has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Meng can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Meng's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Guarulhos
Wishing you peace, Hui. I hope things turn around soon. Take care.
