Likoni
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Likoni Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $850. My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $850 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $750 • Fitting and training sessions: $30 • Delivery and set-up: $35 • First-year servicing plan: $35 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Barasa

  • Good luck. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Lagos so I could bring a meal. All the best

Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Likoni.

      • So sorry you're going through this, Barasa. Shared this with my family. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Cambridge.

        • so sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
