Bakari lives with profound hearing loss. The occupational therapist at Nairobi General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450. His current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Bakari could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $450 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $330 • Fitting and training sessions: $75 • Delivery and set-up: $15 • First-year servicing plan: $30 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
