Back to business - William's comeback in Cambridge
A neighborhood bakery in Cambridge needs help replacing a commercial oven after floodwater.
Anywhere in the world4,493 views
For fifteen years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Cambridge. In November, floodwater took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,900 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $2,450
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $390
• Shop repairs and licensing: $440
• Working capital for the first month: $620
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

What exactly is the $3,900 for?
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. replacing a commercial oven comes first ($2,450) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. God bless.
sending strength, William. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Please keep us posted.
hope you make a strong comeback. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Rooting for you, William. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did
so sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in San Francisco but we're thinking of you.
Sending love, William. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Cambridge.
Hope the shop reopens soon
