Back to business - Ratna's comeback in Jakarta Barat
Ratna lost a commercial oven to a fire in the building and needs $400 to reopen a neighborhood bakery and support the family.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Barat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia2,217 views
For four years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Jakarta Barat. In January, a fire in the building took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 8 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Replacing a commercial oven: $185
• Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $95
• Working capital for the first month: $120
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending strength. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. It's not much but it's yours. God bless.
So sorry you're going through this, Ratna. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Jakarta Barat.
