Back to business - Melanie's comeback in Auckland
Melanie lost a cold-storage unit to floodwater and needs $2,750 to reopen a small grocery stall and support the family.

For four years I have run a small grocery stall in Auckland. In September, floodwater took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Sunday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $590
• Shop repairs and licensing: $240
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $1,920
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
