Back to business - Madhu's comeback in Boston

Madhu has run a street-food cart for nine years; a fire in the building destroyed the equipment, and $1,850 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a street-food cart in Boston. In February, a fire in the building took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $1,850 goes: • Working capital for the first month: $640 • Shop repairs and licensing: $630 • Initial stock: ingredients: $580 Thank you for reading my story.

Hang in there. Hope you make a strong comeback. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
