Back to business - Laura's comeback in Lyon
A bicycle repair shop in Lyon needs help replacing a full set of tools after floodwater.
🇫🇷 France1,861 views
For nine years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Lyon. In November, floodwater took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Replacing a full set of tools: $1,200
• Initial stock: spare parts: $640
• Shop repairs and licensing: $165
• Working capital for the first month: $445
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

You're not alone. Hope you make a strong comeback. Love from Buenos Aires
Thanks for sharing this, Laura. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Good luck, Laura. Small businesses are the heart of Lyon. Hope you're open again soon
