Back on our feet: Niall and two young children in Galway
Niall and two young children need a bridge to stability after a sudden redundancy.
🇮🇪 Ireland433 views
Since a sudden redundancy in August, I'm now raising two young children on my own. I work as a school kitchen assistant, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a pharmacy technician in the evenings, which will triple my income by November, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Rent top-up: $1,200
• Childcare and after-school care: $770
• Groceries and school meals: $530
• Course fees and exam costs: $300
Thanks for being kind about this.

Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Pune this morning. Take care

Best of luck. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My neighbor in Lahore donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Galway
