Back on our feet: Intan and a teenage son and a daughter in primary school in Jakarta
Intan and a teenage son and a daughter in primary school need a bridge to stability after a house fire.

Last August I went through a house fire, and I'm now raising a teenage son and a daughter in primary school on my own. I work as a part-time receptionist, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as a web developer in the evenings, which will triple my income by December, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rent top-up: $155
• Childcare and after-school care: $125
• Groceries and school meals: $115
• Course fees and exam costs: $105
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Intan
Wanted to say thank you properly. 16% funded and the plan for course fees and exam costs is now scheduled.
- Saar Hanneke Huisman 🇳🇱 · $178
- Satish J. Malhotra 🇮🇳 · $25
- Gennaro Caruso 🇮🇹 · $57
“Blessings. From Venice with love.”

Rooting for you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Love from Toulouse
Take care, Intan. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
hope things get better soon, Intan. Shared it with a few friends.
Stay strong, Intan. Hope this works out for you
Sending strength. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together.
Keep going, Intan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Please keep us posted. All the best.
