Feed 382 families each week at Community Pantry in Kobe
The Community Pantry pantry in Kobe is running low just as demand rises; $2,100 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 382 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 52% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kobe market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $220
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $460
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,420
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
